Put Your Hips? Into Your Golf Swing

Put Your Hips Into It
OK so what does that do? Keep in mind that it may not do anything if you’re doing everything else incorrectly. Isn’t it interesting that it’s same thing with life. That getting one thing correct isn’t sufficient. But there are some things in life and it follows, in golf, that are more important than others.

In Golf if you can’t swivel your hips then you’re going to have a rough road to plow to get satisfaction out of your game. Swiveling your hips of course takes your whole upper body with it giving your shot power. Yes you can get power without swiveling your hips if you have a great big upper body but the action becomes very difficult if you don’t swivel your hips round towards the direction of your shot.

As you take your properly positioned swing back is not the time to swivel your hips but as you end your back swing and approach the ball your hips should begin to swivel. As you end your swing you should notice that you are now directly facing where the shot went. This is often called an open stance and should exist at the end of your swing. If you don’t do it this way you are forcing your shot.

Along with all the other techniques you are taught you should practice swiveling your hips in the manner I’ve suggested above and you will improve the flow of your shot and hopefully the power to get the distance that the club should afford you.

Golf is a simple yet difficult game. It’s only difficult when you don’t practice the things you know or learn about the game
Good Luck and be sure to “hit em” straight and accurate.
