I have small hands. What I can do to improve my golf grip.?

The game of golf is a game of inches and so each adjustment you make can improve your game. With regards to the grip and your question about small hands, you can improve your game by using the “interlocking left forefinger and right hand small finger thumbs pointing straight down the shaft” grip method.

When I say improve your game, it means because of your tighter grip, which the interlocking grip provides, your shot can be better and hit more solidly with less of a chance for the club changing position as you approach and swing through the ball.

If you are already quite strong and have smaller hands then the traditional interlocking golf grip simply provides a better position for your hands to grip the club and hit the ball more like you intend.

There are some golfers that are quite strong (yes I know you can be strong with small hands) who don’t need to and don’t use the traditional interlocking grip. They are more comfortable gripping it more like a baseball bat.

If my research is correct, Jack Nicklaus uses the interlocking grip whereas Tiger Woods does not. So using it is a matter of opinion and not always because of small or larger hands and power.

Go to the driving range and experiment to see what is best for you.
