Basic Golf Swing Mechanics

We’ve talked about achieving the perfect golf swing but we should all realize that there really is no such thing as the perfect golf swing that fits everyone. The mechanics are the same and using proper golf swing mechanics and practicing everyday, just about anyone can improve their golf game to a high satisfaction level – but having it perfectly the same as another persons swing is not physically in the cards.

Improvement that golfers often ignore is the fact that good golf swing mechanics are at the heart of success.

I’ve showed you techniques of a proper golf swing and here are more basic principles that you can work on to improve the mechanics of your golf swing.

Alignment is the first thing you should do as you approach your next shot. Alignment is referring to your stance, your distance away from the ball, where the ball is placed, and the fluid nature of your back swing. So remember that if you do the mechanics right and you’ll be able to more consistently hit the golf ball dead center, straight and long.

Hey, nobody does anything well unless they have a certain level of comfort. So Part of your alignment is being comfortable with your stance. If you are comfortable you will be able to rotate your torso and legs in the most fluid and effortless way possible for you.

While you are lining up for your shot concentrate on the target so you line up properly, then transfer your concentration to the ball. Keep your eyes pasted on the ball until after you strike the ball. This bit of concentration will solve a lot of your problems.

You should look at your swing as the only thing you’re trying to do – swing as you’ve learned. Don’t look at it as if you’re trying to hit the ball hard or soft or far or short. Just concentrating on the swing – if you do the proper swing, all else will take care of itself.
